A Trio of Talent on Show

A new exhibition showcasing works by a local trio of female abstract painters, Three, opens this Saturday, December 14, at the Tub Art Gallery in Byron Bay.

The three artists are Karyn Fendley, Alle Scott and Melissa Trent. Melissa Trent's paintings focus on the rhythm and flow of nature, with luminescent skies, the journey of seeds, the flight path of birds and mutable waters all portrayed as markers of seasonal change.

Alle Scott's works are all vibrantly coloured, aiming to integrate the influences of environment, culture and emotion into one.

The shape and texture of beach pebbles are the focus of Karyn Fendley's contribution, with the mixed media works exploring the patterns of rhythm and shape that Karyn observes on the sand during morning walks on the beach.

Three opens on Saturday at 6.30pm, and runs until January 4.

The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm. It is at 84-86 Centennial Crt, in the Byron Industrial Estate.
